| What is the literary value of Churchill's 6-volume history of WWII? How definitive of WWII is this? I have a copy, and have thought of putting it up on ebay. Why would I want to keep it? |

Churchill's 6 volume history of WWII is 'his' version/opinion. It should not be taken as 'gospel', but it is valuable for an insight into Churchills character as he would like to be remembered. It also has a value as there are many authoritative works which refer to it. If you no longer have it you may find it awkward to fully appreciate references to it? That said I would not dismiss the work. There's no 'State secrets' in it but Churchill can be quite accurate where things went as he wanted them to. I would strongly suggest owning Churchill as War Leader by Richard Lamb, and the recently issued uncut version of Alanbrookes War Diaries (as opposed to the previous issued Turn of the Tide and Triumph in the West, edited by Arthur Bryant).
